SCINEMA is the largest science film festival in the southern hemisphere showcasing the best in science cinema from around the world. SCINEMA is a celebration of the power of the moving image to inspire the young, satisfy the curious, explain the baffling and ask the impossible.

Organisations all over Australia host SCINEMA screenings during National Science Week, with screenings in libraries, town halls, schools and science festivals across the nation.  If you’d like to attend a screening near you, we will be developing a curated playlist of SCINEMA selections for 2019 over the coming months.

In the meantime, you can see where events were held in 2018 in the list below.  Click on the link for date and venue details, and if you can’t find one nearby… host your own for free!

Note that screenings can be public or private. Private screenings do not appear in the program for National Science Week.
